Lead designer responsible for producing between four and six daily newspapers each week on a nightly deadline. Copy editing and website management have also been part of my responsibilites as staff has decreased.

Served as the managing editor for a local non-profit news organization. I worked with a wide range of writers to produce local journalism that spoke to the cultural and political landscape of the city.

Worked with a small team to produce a local podcast sharing the stories and inner workings of Long Beach political history. Beyond producing episodes from idea to release, I also designed artwork and social media.

Spent 18 months with Fullerton College Publication, and over that period was promoted from staff writer to online and senior editor to editor-in-chief. As editor-in-chief, my responsibilities included leading a staff of over 20 people in all aspects of production on a news website and a biweekly newspaper. Learned skills of reporting and writing, and gained a working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Managed coutless story ideas from creation to publication. —Instrumental in moving the focus of the newspaper from traditional print to an online publication. —Won Print General Excellence from the Journalism Association of Community Colleges for both the Spring and Fall of 2013

Worked for Kids Artistic Revue, a dance competition that traveled throughout the country. Produced videos of dance routines that were sold at the compeitions. Responsibilities included unloading trucks of gear on site; safely and securely setting up camera position and microphones; shooting video for up to 17 hours a day; ensuring video was captured to computers correctly; properly packing camera equipment back up for safe travel.

Worked for over three years in retail video rentals. Responsibilities included resolving customer issues; opening and closing the store; counting registers and handling bank deposits; scheduling shifts for other employees. Was promoted quickly from a customer service representative to shift leader to assistant manager due to my attention to detail and good relationships with other employees.

Wrote and directed four short movies as part of my film school education. Responsible for projects from conception to completion. This involved writing treatments and scripts; determining budgets and shooting locations; casting actors and organizing crews for production; editing film and sound using Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools.
