DirectorAnchor Point Risk Mar 2019 - PresentSouth Africa, MauritiusAnchor Point Risk is a Financial Services advisory and consulting firm specialises in providing credit risk solutions under three pillars of services; Risk, Accounting and Regulatory. It provides a credit risk analysis solution to global and regional banks and businesses. Today’s environment requires providers of credit to significantly enhance their ability to understand the risks associated with their portfolio. Anchor Point’s technology platform enables its clients to have access to the same risk analysis of their credit exposure that large institutions have in-house without having the burden of high development, and implementations costs. Anchor Point’s suite of credit risk services have kept pace with all of today’s evolving accounting and regulatory requirements. Its proprietary models, and applications, in one “environment”, utilize the clients’ existing counter-party data and rate it to industry-wide, and globally, acknowledged benchmarks. The ultimate value proposition is an end-to-end credit risk rating, pricing and valuation ecosystem, with requisite governance to comply with both (advanced) regulatory and accounting standards. -

The division specialised in quantitative financial risk management and measurement for banks and insurance companies, as well as econometric modelling for mining houses and the public sector. The common denominator between the disciplines was integrated capital management.Duties and Responsibilities:• Led a team of 40 quantitative analysts and econometricians in two sub-divisions:• The first – Quantitative Financial Risk Management, built risk rating tools (predominantly credit risk) in all the large SA banks. Its clients included mining houses, which needed a more scientific or statistical approach to forecasting their long-term capital and operational budgeting for large-scale capital projects. Greg and his team were involved in the preparation, validation or development of most of one of the world’s largest mining house’s divisions’ capital project escalation (budgeting) models. This included pre-feasibility measurement, such as Internal Rate of Return etc. The division also assisted the public sector, which needed some measurement of the value add of various initiatives on the wider economy. -
