I have more than 25 years of management responsibilities and have worked in areas such as security operations, intelligence analysis, developing supply chain security programmes, organising large scale international-level events, developing transport security policies and programmes and corporate management. Key responsibilities and achivements include:a. Involved in military peace support mission in East Timor in 1997 and commanded the naval component of the Indian Ocean Tsunami humanitarian mission in 2004. b. Served in senior staff positions in Doctrine Development and Intelligencec. Developed transport security and supply chain security policies and programmes in consultation with both security agencies and industry stakeholders. These policies and programmes had to ensure that commercial objectives and profitability were maintained while meeting the security needs.d. Planned, organised and conducted large scale international events such as a 5-day ASEAN Transport Ministers' Meeting and APEC-level seminars and workshops.e. Key lead in various consultancies in aviation security and supply chain security.f. Established and led a sense-making cluster to monitor maritime information and events to assess the possibility of a developing threat in the maritime domain.g. Oversee safety and security of the Downtown Line (DTL) mass rapid transit system - including conducting vulnerability and risk assessments of the various facilities in the DTL and responding to security and safety incidents as well as conducting investigations of incidents.My experience brings along extensive planning, management and organizational skills. I am able to strategize and understand the “big picture” and translate top management intentions into policies to meet the strategic intent. This is tempered by an operational experience which brings forth the need for attention to details in the implementation of any plan.
