My various positions throughout my career exposed me to every facet of operations and support management in a large complex national organization. This experience included my role as VP for more than 129,000 management and craft employees representing the western United States. In this capacity I successfully controlled and operated within a $13 billion dollar annual budget allocation. The operations under my leadership included Human Resources, Labor Relations, Finance/Budget/Accounting, Marketing, Transportation, Plant Mail Processing, Delivery, Maintenance, and the associated operations support groups. My duties included planning, budgeting, daily support and leadership for our employees. I worked closely with elected officials and community leaders throughout the western half of the country (including Hawaii, Alaska and US Territories) to assure continuity and viability of postal operations for the communities we served. Our foundational strength was established in part by my direct interactive support of the development of my staff. Our achievement culture cultivated a motivated and innovative think tank inspiring high performance and achievement.My current professional goal is to continue as an effective leader, mentor, and educator who helps others develop a solid foundation of knowledge and skills that they can use to succeed both professionally and in the community.
