About Gregory (Greg) Baker

I come from a farming lifestyle down in the heart of Southland. I lived my life up untill University down in the outskirts of Gore on farmland until I made the move to Auckland for tertiary education. After graduating high school at St Peters College, Gore I moved to the other end of the country to see what was on offer. I completed my Bachelor (Honours) degree at the University of Auckland studying Civil Engineering focusing on Structures and Roading. I started my Career with Fulton Hogan, working in the Major Projects Division on large scale Motorway projects including the Waikato Expressway - Huntly Section and Te Ahu A Turanga - Manawatu Tararua Highway. After completing and closing out the Huntly Bypass project I then moved to Palmerston North to spend some time getting the Manawatu Gorge Highway project up and running. Early 2021 I had an opportunity to join Oxcon and moved back up to Auckland, which now has me working on the Glen Innes to Tamaki Drive Shared Path project in Meadowbank.I have always been big on sports, playing Football and Softball since I was young. I take opportunities to play sports whenever I can, and always enjoy trying out a new sport when the opportunity arises. I'm very hardworking and always keen to learn new skills and further develop myself as a person on every level.
