I spent my final university summer holiday as well as semester breaks working for Fulton Hogan Civil North based in Ranui, Auckland. I was involved in working on the Te Atatu Bridge Motorway Interchange, lifting and strengthening the three original bridges and building a new forth bridge. I also got some experience on site installing a couple of pedestrian.

As part of a scholarship I received through the NZAS I worked at the Tiwai smelter over the summer as a student worker. I worked in the Shipping Services area, and was involved with unloading and reloading any ships at the dock. When there wasn't a ship in I worked all around the site, doing various jobs including operating forklifts and loaders constantly.

I helped out wherever I was needed on the farm, doing any jobs required. I was involved in all the main seasonal work, as well as putting up lots of rabbit fencing over the hills and spraying gorse.
