Dr. Harvey is originally from New York and practiced orthopedics in Houston, Texas for 30 years before returning back to one of his original training centers at Metropolitan HospitalDr. Gregory P. Harvey is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and holds a Sub-Specialty certification in Sports Medicine. In 1979, Dr. Harvey received his B.S. degree from Tufts University. In 1983, he received his medical degree from New York Medical College. In 1984, he completed his general surgery internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and then completed a two year orthopedic research fellowship at New York Medical College in 1986. In 1990, he completed his residency at New York Medical College where he was Chief Resident. Prior to joining Orthopaedic Associates in Houston, Dr.Harvey completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in 1991.Dr. Harvey was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Medical School as well as the Co-Chief of the Orthopedic Sports Medicine education resident program.He is a Team Physician for the US Ski Team, an expert panelist for the Texas Medical Board, and is a member of the Medical Liability Committee for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.He is married and has five daughters and is excited to be back in Manhattan and working at Metropolitan Hospital again!
