I’ve been responsible for: 1) planning the activation of the new Golden VA Clinic, which included coordinating the transition from the previous Lakewood facility to the new location; 2) development and implementation of performance standards; 3) development of standard operating procedures such as clinic security and Medical Assistance Team responses; 4) recruitment, hiring, orientation, and ongoing competency assessment of staff; 5) providing timely semi-annual and annual performance evaluations; 6) ensuring staff compliance with all mandatory education and training requirements; 7) approval of requests for leave; development and posting of staff work schedules; and certification of timecards; 8) maintaining an effective labor/management partnership; 9) ensuring that quality control mechanisms are in place, reporting adverse events, making recommendations for peer review, and preparing issue briefs as requested; 10) conducting recurring, routine staff meetings; 11) performance improvement and documentation audits; 12) budget development and monitoring in collaboration with the Medical Director and the Administrative Officer; 13) achievement of targets for annual ECF (Executive Career Field) performance measures and monitors within scope of responsibility.I also detailed to the role of ‘Clinic Manager’ of the new Colorado Springs VA Clinic from February 2015 to August 2015. This role encompassed total oversight and responsibility for clinic operations and management of patient services.

- Responsible as executive section leader for overall leadership, management, and supervision of nurses and medics within the medical group. Proficient in developing multidisciplinary relationships.- Duties include planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating programs and outcomes; regular attention to complex personnel management problems; participation in executive level decision making deliberations and directing the integration of nursing and patient care activities in the mutual development and achievement of organizational goals and policy. Provided guidance and directional oversight for the creation, implementation and maintenance of standards in nursing practice.- Chief Nurse, Joint Task Force, Lanai, Hawaii (June 2013)- Supervised 20 nurses and 58 medics- Team Leader - humanitarian mission: Operation Arctic Care (04/2012); Lead diverse-multidisciplinary 17 member team over two weeks through two remote Alaska villages providing healthcare. Credited with villager’s life being saved.

Provides nursing care for complex patients, independently carrying out all nursing functions related to cardiac monitoring, treatments, medications, vaso-active infusions, ventilator management and invasive monitoring modalities. - Oversaw entire medical center quality, risk, and compliance programs, including supervision of credentialing manager and two discharge case managers. Provided quarterly reports to hospital board.- Worked closely with primary care physicians (family practice, internal medicine, and emergency room) and nurses to evaluate clinical care delivery and implement evidenced based clinical practice.
