Lean Change Agent (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt)

Fort Dodge, Ia

I facilitated the identification and execution of numerous productivity initiatives, and I identified & helped improve multiple process & safety opportunities through my routine Gemba walks. These initiatives and improvements impacted the financial scorecard’s expenses, variance, losses, labor, & absorption (overhead) metrics, saving over $11M, reducing waste & errors, and simplifying processes. Examples include:•Media preparation kanban system saving over $2M the first two years of use, reduced hazardous waste generation, and cutting media “emergency” orders from 25% to 5%.•Filter utilization improvements saving over $1.5M since implementation and reducing environmental impact by producing less refuse.•Raw material consumption reductions saving over $2M in some of the most expensive materials used to produce antigens. •Antigen process optimization saving nearly $1M in a year and improving production capacity constraints.I created several financial and quality visual dashboards using multiple Office 365 applications such as Excel, Power Automate, & Power BI to easily identify trends and process improvement opportunities. I used multiple lean and six sigma tools such as A3 problem solving, Kaizens, capacity analyses, process mapping, standard work & waste analyses, SIPOC, and many more to aid in the facilitation and execution of my improvement initiatives. I was publicly recognized and rewarded multiple times for my work and the results achieved.

Sr. Specialist, Business Process Excellence

Fort Dodge, Ia

I demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to the company’s strategy and direction to inspire and increase coworkers’ motivation and involvement recognizing others’ achievements and praising milestones and demonstrated positive behaviors aligned to the values that benefited the overall strategy & direction of the organization. I trained Yellow Belts and mentored a Green Belt. I participated in VMS audits and provided coaching. I assisted team members by performing requested statistical analyses. I overcame considerable pushback and delaying tactics to conduct the first Gage R&R study on viable count testing, which led to testing improvement opportunities. I developed the implementation plan to roll out Tier boards to Fort Dodge and St. Joseph sites and facilitated workshops at both sites introducing tier boards to BIVI. I performed and facilitated several lean and six sigma projects such as the following: reduction of vial count variability, reduction of environmental monitoring testing, reduction of contamination risks (multiple projects), reduction of the number of material movement adjustments/corrections in SAP, simplification of the double/triple bagging process (and made it safer), improvement in communication between shifts, reduction in viable count measurement variability, reduction of waste in supply chain processes, etc.
