Oct 2016 - Jun 2017

Deputy Head Of Full-Time Horticulture Programmes

Crystal Palace Park, Enfield, Gunnersbury Park

I liaised on a daily basis with members of staff – ranging from the Senior Management Team, garden staff, contractors and members of the public. I organised and managed practical and academic work that is necessary for staff and students to complete their qualifications and developed horticultural areas across the college campuses at Enfield, Gunnersbury Park and Crystal Palace Park. Recently due to my development of amenity and decorative horticultural spaces within the historic listed Crystal Palace Park, I was responsible for the management and implementation of soft and hard landscape features, due to my experiences when I owned and managed a garden and landscape design and construction company prior to joining CM. Work involved private gardens and commercial schemes ranging from £15,000 - £300,000. I undertook similar work at Hadlow College when developing and installing ‘Broadview Gardens’ - a greenfield site within the college grounds. I have been professionally trained as a horticulturalist since I left The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. During that time I have worked for myself as a horticultural contractor, landscaper and designer. Also at a number of colleges developing, designing, installing and maintaining public gardens and spaces. I have run and managed my own Garden Design and Landscape Company for twelve years – dealing with architects, town/council planners, contractors, staff, members of the public and clients.
