Having served in Her Majesty’s Royal Navy for twenty four years, I was fortunate enough to be selected to work for the Multi National Force and Observers (MFO). This is a military peace keeping force in Sinai, Egypt. My main tasks during my twenty years with this organisation were monitoring and managing IP Network Technology from a ‘state of the art’ Integrated Operations Centre’. As you’ll see from my CV, I have knowledge of Solar Winds monitoring tools and understand VOIP/ROIP voice/IP protocol. The Organization also utilised my skills as an administrator for our Air/Land and sea vehicle tracking system (CVTS Blue Sky router). This included the monitoring/administration of almost 300 assets. Basically, my job was to supervise a small team who provided 24/7 ‘fault-finding’ support for the Organization’s IP infrastructure, although Communications Operations/message handling, was my main task. Another skill I personally took on was the SharePoint Portal administration for the Organisation’s messages and documentation (formerly known as signal messages). I have had experience in administering V-sat and have done some online courses in Satellite news gathering. My final role was in managing my small team of operators’ from several international military nations. I was responsible for writing their annual appraisals, managing their leave and assisting with various welfare issues.I am very interested in joining an environment that includes monitoring and configuring of IP Software and Hardware. I already have experience of uploading new firmware to various assets. I am also able to work in a Service Desk environment and in my last role; my team took over remote duties from our day working Service Desk, from 1700 thru to 0800 on work days and full time on holidays and weekends. I therefore consider my attributes and skill set could quickly be utilised into a wide spectrum of roles..
