I started off by sitting in on virtual meetings where the Cardinal Postproduction team went over updates or issues in their modules. The Financial modules include General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Business Intelligence. Each module lead describes technical or practical issues that users are experiencing and makes suggestions on how to solve these issues. They also discuss upgrades to the system and future plans that will require testing, configuration changes to the system, and training. I completed an online walkthrough of the system on how to use the software and how to understand the language that the website and software uses. I was then shown that Cardinal collects all the budgeting and spending information from every agency in Virginia, including colleges, museums, and historical parks. I then worked on developing a research question using the Cardinal software. I found that I was very interested in the money that is given to certain schools and how the budgets are so different from school to school. I developed the question, “Is there a correlation between the total enrollment of the school and the Budgets expenditures of the College?”. , I then looked at several different values that I could query in the Business Intelligence module. I chose to take the values, Budget expenditures, which is the total amount of money the college has to spend, Actual expenses, which is the amount of money they have spent up to this point in the fiscal year, and the percentage of budget remaining for the fiscal year. I then used the program R studio to run correlational test, multi linear regression test and and visual charts.

I learned the company's procedures and acquired a list of clients through networking. From there I was able to call and schedule appointments with my clients. During the appointments I demonstrated how the products work and how it could be beneficial for them. I was able to learn how to successfully close deals, and network to expand my list of clients.
