I manage the technical and the daily administrative work in the Fire Protection Services Bureau; I provide technical staff assistance to the Fire Marshal; perform advanced technical work in areas of fire protection, prevention, and education programs; conduct fire inspections of highly technical and hazardous occupancies and in new construction; I enforce building, fire and municipal codes and nationally recognized standards; I conduct plan review of industrial, commercial and special hazard occupancies and fire protection systems and equipment; I often meet and confer with developers at conceptual stages of new projects to guide their decision making prior to construction.
