This includes, but is not limited to, a review and critique of all internal investigations into corruption, criminal behavior, and other acts of serious misconduct. The office also evaluates and guides internal investigations while providing legal advice in the areas of criminal, civil, administrative and labor law in an effort to ensure that satisfactory evidence is documented and disciplinary action is taken, when appropriate.The office provides support to internal investigators and unit commanders in the adjudication of command-level discipline, the preparation of formal charges and specifications, and in the development of competent trial evidence.Lastly, the office is responsible for the efficient and effective prosecution of disciplinary cases that are presented to the Deputy Commissioner of Trials.
