As a Data Analyst, I worked in teams of other analysts to create social networks of fraudulent activity within insurance and commercial banking industry. By writing macros using SAS language, teams cleansed data, performed entity resolution, and scored entities based on suspicion of fraud.Worked with clients to meet their demands. Designed and created inclusive VMs that contained proprietary software to clients on a strict deadline. This included manipulating databases using SQL and configuring webapps by editing JSPs.Created a fully-automated R script to predict whether an auto insurance claim will be fraudulent. The script performed exploratory analysis and parameterized model based on the analysis, performed bootstrapped-oversampling and cost-weighting, based on actual costs incurred by the client, to overcome a heavily skewed class. The model had over 92% precision and 95% recall.

The Village Of Wappingers Falls, Ny

Created a fully-functional financial forecast model and Capital Infrastructure Plan for the Village. The Plan allowed one of the poorest municipalities to finance $70MM worth of infrastructure repairs. The NY Comptroller's Office said the financial forecast model and Capital Infrastructure Plan was the first of its kind in all of New York State.The forecasting model used a naive bayesian techniques to predict future infrastructure expenditure and budget. While this technique is not accurate in the long-term, the pros out weighed the cons; especially since the Village's future budget is a function of the past year's budget. Addiionally, naive bayesian was simple enough for the public to understand, and allowed future Trustees of the Village to update the model to their choosing.
