20+years of appraisal and development, leading teams of 5-15 staff, managing a community of 100 people, and often dealing with large (1+ billion boe) fields, and managing software. SPE Distinguished Lecturer 2019-2020 dealing with unconventional reservoirs. My research also includes volcanic geology, and fluid flow around volcanoes, so some geothermal experience.I apply numerical simulation, data analytics, genetic algorithms, and commercial context to make recommendations on wells and projects, with my work audited externally. I'm a member of SPEE, #838, the professional society for reserves estimation and evaluation, Programming: Perl, Fortran, C++, especially parallel MIMD using MPI-CH.Projects include data assimilation using EnKF and Genetic Algorithms. My own simulation codes include multiphase fluid flow, fracture modeling, and fluid flow in fractures. Business Analysis: 6 yrs preparing materials for EVP and CEO review on projects, performing risk and commercial analysis as well as document preparation and presentation. This also includes writing UDQ keywords for Eclipse to calculate discounted cashflow within the simulation.Management: I've been a team lead of 3-4 specialists for the last few years, managing budget, gaining consulting contracts, goal setting and coaching. I now lead a team of about 10 people in 4 countries, so I now telemanage as well as telework.Reserves: I have been directly accountable for 500 million boe across gas, gas condensate, oil, rocks spanning carbonates, fractured basements, unconventional resource plays, and clastics from 0.1mD to 15000mD. I've also reviewed and presented at data rooms, and presented to external auditors.Geophysics: One of my specialties is Time Lapse Seismic integration with the reservoir model, and using seismic attributes for fractured and unconventional reservoirs. More conventionally I have picked seismic for a turbidite reservoir.Field Development Planning: I've taken on projects with 2 months to write the field development plan for a 4billion boe fractured carbonate field as the reservoir engineering lead, including surface site selection for wells, surveillance planning, and well optimization.I have 20 yrs of reservoir simulation, and this now includes unconventional resource plays (Texas, Pennsylvania, Alberta, B.C), as well as fractured basements, carbonates, fractured carbonates.I've volunteered as a supervisor for a PhD student using EnKF on SAGD.
