Returning to the Ashbury hotel I have really invested more time and effort into increasing my skills within the golf trade. I have worked very closely with the director of golf in improving the day to day running of the 9th largest golf resort in the world! Contacting different people within the golfing world has really allowed me to gain great knowledge of how the industry operates. As also a assistant duty manager of the hotel I have learnt how to run the hotel and my people management skills have improved because of this. In my time at the company I have also instructed many shooting range sessions (Archery, Air Pistols and Air Rifles). I have run multiple sporting competitions and thrown my hand at sports I have never come across before for example curling, bowls and volleyball to name a few.

As part of my degree. I completed a work placement sandwich year between my 2nd and final year. This was achieved at The Manor House and Ashbury Hotels (July 2016- September 2017). In my role at the hotel I took on multiple jobs making me a rounded and valued member of the team. The roles included working in one of the busiest golf shops in the country to running shooting range sessions (Archery, Air pistol and Air rifle) with the hotel guests also running sporting activities from badminton competitions to ice curling sessions. Other roles included working on the bar working on reception and looking after europe's largest fleet of buggies. During my time working at the hotel I learnt a lot of valuable skills that I will take further in my career.

I spent the summer shadowing golf professional Thomas Lloyd in Germany, gaining an invaluable insight and increasing my skills involved in working in the industry. I learnt new skills and improved my German language speaking skills. I also worked in the pro shop buying selling and fixing golf equipment. I am fully trained in fixing clubs varying from re-griping clubs to changing clubheads. During my time in Germany I competed in many pro-am tournaments placing highly in all of them. Alongside this I had the pleasure of caddying for Thomas in his PGA of Germany tournaments.
