I operate in two parallel universes... In my philanthropic world, I run the Greek America Foundation, an organization I founded in 1997 and directed as a volunteer for more than a decade. The GAF has extensive programs for young people. These programs include scholarships for full-tuition study abroad in Greece, as well as summer volunteer program that teaches young adults Greek ideals of philanthropy and philotimo by engaging them in important humanitarian causes with reputable non-profits in Greece. The foundation also hosts a number of activities throughout the continent including the Gabby Awards and the Forty Under 40 Awards.My "for profit" world, the one that pays my mortgage and allows me to eat, is comprised of running Pappas & Polyzois Special Events & Public Relations, a New York-based firm with more than 25 years of collective experience representing a wide array of clients and various projects. Our collective portfolio includes the management of a complicated petroleum services operation in the Eastern Mediterranean, the production of major events throughout the world and strategic development for brands and people.Finally, in more recent years I've become a passionate filmmaker/producer and have been involved in numerous short film and documentary projects. I have plans for many more in the near future.
