The Leadership Academy is designed to equip high potential emerging leaders from the social sector to become successful executives and help their organizations’ achieve sustainable growth, effective program implementation and overall success. This comprehensive, research-based program focuses on both the inter-personal and business skills required for effective leadership. Facilitated in partnership with the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) and the Beloved Community Center (BCC).

As the Director of Restorative Justice my goal is to uplift the voices and needs of the underrepresented and underserved constituents in our local and national communities. My role as DEI Committee Chair is to implement strategy, operationalize strategic initiatives, and evaluate impact. I am focused on upholding diversity inclusion and equity standards as it relates to internal progress and community impact. Each day I manage the workforce development programming for non-traditional talent and community stakeholders. Utilizing creative arts-based programming, storytelling, personalized life skills development and culturally relative leadership, each campaign I spearhead is aimed at one goal: building equitable pipelines and inclusive models that address the needs of the Black community and other marginalized groups. Our programming enhances the culture of redemption and empathy with job readiness programming, professional and personal development.

As the Director of the Social Justice Leadership Institute I led 1,000+ program participants in anti-racism education using diversity awareness frameworks and inclusive communication skill development with the goal to create civically engaged citizens. While facilitating local and international trainings, professional development workshops, and social media campaigns to spark cross cultural and intergenerational dialogue, I was tasked to bridge the gap between community and corporate understanding that allowed each program outcome to create diverse and inclusive spaces.

Team Building Workshops: Navigated the organization, coordination, and facilitation of culturally-relevant internal and external team building workshops across national operations.Inclusive Engagement Strategies: Drove the creation and development of inclusive engagement strategies for students, enhancing their civic activism and leadership skills.Program Administration: Administered all aspects of multiple programs, projects, and staff to ensure on-budget efficiency.

During my tenure I spearheaded the effort to develop talent and create career pathways and opportunities for program participants. Additionally, I was focused on creating a space for cross-cultural communication and expression for students and youth of self-identified marginalized groups.As the Founding Executive Director of the Philly Youth Poetry Movement I spearheaded an innovative approach for youth development and professional development using spoken word, creative writing, literacy and civic engagement to increase inter-generational community engagement. Through evidence based practices and collaboration inclusive and diverse safe and brave spaces were curated by visionary leadership, as well as access for career and workforce development for youth with social and restorative justice at the forefront. Leveraging community and philanthropic partnerships with public and private institutions the organization was able to impact over 20,000 lives. The Philly Youth Poetry Movement (PYPM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides a safe and inclusive space for Philadelphia region youth to discover the power of their voices through spoken word, literary expression and civic engagement. PYPM offers literary arts education programming for youth ages 13-19 that promotes creative expression, critical literacy, life skills, and civic engagement. We believe that when youth take ownership of their voice, they take ownership over themselves.

Developed an individual education plan (IEP) with support staff and quarterly (IEP) goals and objectives for students that aligned with curriculum and lesson plan objectives.
