Responsible for Cold Mill operations Finishing Division. Led our management group to safely and efficiently produce quality steel for our customers. Increased Pickling productivity by 8% and Cold Rolling productivity by 23% since 2003. Yield improved by 0.6% on Hotband-to-Coldband coils. Met target goals for manpower reductions and operated all units within $20MM annual budget. Organized Safety Plan for department and improved safety incident rates. Successfully double crew sizing with aggressive training plan. With 230 employees under my leadership, we focused on Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost. Held position as USA Cold Rolling Expert for company’s global technical exchange events. Planned and attend international technical exchanges in Europe.

Developed International Steel Group’s initial Shipping and Logistics process at Cleveland Works. Implemented AXIOM software to produce OTR Shipping Manifests for customer deliveries. Cleveland shipment capacity realized at over 3 million annual tons. Loading and shipping rates negotiated and permit conditions met.

Assumed leadership of department in ‘red ink’ and successfully ran its operations ‘in the black’ for entire tenure. Reduced hot roll processing rejections by 25% and decreased scrap rate by over 30%. Started up capital project and completed new warehousing facility on time and under budget.Oversaw an annual budget of $18MM and two million tons of steel production and shipments. Successfully started up a ‘turnkey’ slitting unit, increased shipments by 13%, reduced electroplate rejections by 50%.
