Greg Ropp has been into movies (and music) since he was a little boy growing up in the American Midwest. Greg was the typical monster fan of the late 1960’s, a title which required a religious reading of Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine and going to as many drive-in features as was allowed by the parental units.As a teen, Greg’s attention turned to music and he became an avid collector of psychedelic and punk rock albums.In the 1980’s he formed his own band, “The Void”, who went on to local fame in the Erie County area of Pennsylvania. “The Void” released three well-received albums before breaking up in 1994. (Greg fronted another band called "5 Empty Chambers" that released a successful album in 1996 and performed live as recently as 2005).During this time Greg was also the manager of a video store in Edinboro, Pa., which was a haven for film fanatics, with an inventory hand picked by Greg over the years. Unfortunately due to years of decline in the video rental world, Poppa Ropp’s went out of business after a 22 year run in 2005. Greg continues to create music and has developed a deep interest in spirituality and mysticism over the years, but it’s his childhood love of cinema that drives him these days. He has worked with hundreds of celebrities from the movie and rock world, owns a massive autograph collection and networks almost daily with filmmakers, screenwriters and fans around the world.He helped scout locations for the critically acclaimed film "The Road" as well as the proposed (but never completed) Danny DiVito film, "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle" and has also appeared in several regional productions in small roles. He is set to co-produce actor Tony Todd's upcoming film "Eerie, Pa".Ropp is also the President of the Spirit Quest Film Festival, the founder of The Film Society of NW PA and the NW PA Film Office.
