Consistent with prior assignments, my responsibility was to oversee the renovation and re-launch the property. RevPar was increased 122% and my team exceeded budgeted profit 5 consecutive years. We had the highest increase in sales and GOP to budget of all Hyatt Hotels in 2011 while attaining the highest rated employee satisfaction survey among all Hyatt Hotels by Gallup in 2010, 2011 and fourth in 2012. Guest service scores for both transient and group were in the top 15% of all Hyatt Hotels. Awarded Hyatt Hotel’s Donald M. Pritzker General Manager of the Year.

Group pre-opening sales reached $256,000,000. Primary responsibility was to merge the owner’s rental program with Hyatt’s management systems as well as revenue management, distribution and operational platforms. Additional responsibilities included coordinating all efforts regarding condo sales and marketing, hotel operations including the 28 managed or leased food and beverage outlets, human resources, warehousing, convention services, catering, security, EVS spa/recreation and transportation for the resort. My team exceeded budget and GOP every year from 2000-2007. Aggressively moved RevPar to over 104% share in 2003 for the first time and maintained a positive RevPar performance. Developed a design and received owner’s approval for over $80,000,000 in renovations of all guest rooms, meeting facilities and public space, completed in 2005-6. Assisted Regional Vice President with the other 21 hotels in region. Was elected Chairman of the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau twice during my tenure. Served as advisor to the Mayor Daley of Chicago traveled with him on 4 separate occasions to other major US Cities. Nominated for General Manager of the Year.

    Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe is a 458 room resort with 40,000 square feet of casino space with 700 slots and 18 table games, 22,500 square feet of indoor meeting space, numerous outdoor venues and 6 food and beverage outlets. The resort also has 98 timeshare units adjacent to the property and 12 free standing 2 story cottages on the beach. Overall responsibility was to conceptualize and coordinate the $40,000,000 renovation that included the addition of a 200 room tower, a spa, and a 600 foot dock in addition to the complete gut and redo of the casino, Lobby, three restaurants, the cottages and the guest rooms. We transformed and repositioned the resort and increased the average rate by over $50 within the first year. We exceeded budget and GOP, grew casino revenues by 20% and GOP flow through by 92% on increased revenue.

Total food and beverage revenue of $125,000,000 is derived from 17 different outlets. Responsibility included all hotel operations, sales and marketing, food and beverage. Accomplishments include conceptualization and lead negotiation of a marketing reservation agreement with Marriott Hotels as well as being point person for the development of a 1500 room Marriott hotel and a 500 room Ritz Carlton. Developed the design and performa of a 380,000 square foot conference center. Gained board approval and worked to open the project in April 1998. Renovation oversight for all rooms and suites with a budget of $125,000,000.
