My approach emphasizes people and process as the most critical components in any organization. When great people are paired with poor processes, the processes win every time. This limits a business from unleashing its full potential. Sterling Volunteers is a background screening provider serving nonprofit and service organizations. As a division of Sterling, a global screening company, Sterling Volunteers works with thousands of clients to help them safely fulfill their missions and positively impact the communities they serve.As Director of Business Operations I created, executed, and monitored business processes that delivered over 1M background checks per year. Working cross-functionally with all business units (finance, IT/dev, client services, sales, product, marketing, compliance, and operations) my job was to:• Identify performance trends through data analysis• Drive operational efficiencies using needs assessments and gap analyses • Troubleshoot product and service issues• Lead projects to enhance user experiences in digital platforms and app. • Increase online sales revenueWhat I loved about this job was the continuous priority placed on a client-centered approach to doing business. My focus was unifying people and processes to help ensure the best product and service delivery for our customers.

Partnered with academic, recruiting, finance, program development, and web/IT departments to develop and drive marketing strategies for a diverse portfolio of online degrees, certificates, and courses. Identified target audiences along with the key messages and appropriate channels to reach them. Evaluated campaign performance using a variety of database sources and KPIs. Managed marketing budgets for all programs with focused attention on ROI for each campaign run.Analyzed internal marketing processes as well as cross-departmental processes involving the marketing unit. Implemented organizational development strategies to improve efficiencies in workflow and communication within the marketing team and between other internal and external groups.

Provided general oversight and leadership of Northern Colorado/Wyoming district office and corresponding youth programs. Primary responsibilities included donor cultivation, grant writing, fundraising strategy, special event implementation, and board development. Planned and executed several annual non-profit fundraising events with primary responsibilities in donor cultivation, corporate team fundraising, committee management, and the development of fundraising strategies.

Directed four Club facilities and a corresponding staff of over 40 in central region of San Diego County. Facilitated trainings and managed new employee on-boarding process for staff. Managed seven grants from various funding sources. Developed successful strategic initiatives to increase program participation and influence. Other responsibilities included program design, implementation and evaluation, grant writing, staff development, event planning, and public relations.

Managed five on-campus,before and after school programs and corresponding staff of 30. Devised and managed operating budget of over $500,000 for programs and staffing. Served as liaison for organization with school district to manage designated state funds for these programs.

Launched new position in the organization managing three grants totaling over $500,000. Implemented three major health related initiatives at 19 program locations reaching over 15,000 San Diego youth. Developed tracking systems to monitor progress at each site and conducted on-site evaluations aimed at steering program improvement. Worked with California Department of Education and other private funding sources to implement programs.

Launched new, on-campus before and after school program and grew attendance to 120 participants per day, achieving funding goals. Devised strategy to integrate program into the regular school day to maximize program reach and effectiveness. Developed marketing/outreach strategy to increase awareness of program and participation benefits.
