As an Information Security & Assurance Intern at UT Health, I am actively involved in various cybersecurity initiatives that enhance the organization's overall security posture. My primary responsibilities include conducting thorough risk assessments on third-party service providers and applications to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. I contribute to auditing the effectiveness of security awareness training programs, helping to refine content and delivery methods to boost user engagement and understanding. My role also involves conducting internal audits to assess the effectiveness of security controls and ensuring compliance with internal policies. Furthermore, I review SOC2 Type 2 reports for critical service providers, ensuring their security practices meet the organization's standards. I also ensure compliance with the Texas Risk and Authorization Management Program (TX-RAMP) requirements, particularly for cloud services, and develop Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) documentation to maintain consistent security practices across the institution.Through these activities, I develop strong skills in auditing, risk management, and cybersecurity, which significantly contribute to maintaining a secure and compliant environment at UT Health.

Oversaw Operations of the Information Technology Lab. I maintained a wide range of IT systems including workstations, servers, networks, and firewalls. I preformed Active Directory Administration, User and Group Management, and system updates, maintenance, and migration. I headed the project for the deployment of a Linux FOG server for PXE image deployments over the LAN network which significantly improved the system update and deployment operations and reduced labor time.
