In my previous role as a Mississippi Division Distribution Manager, I governed P&L, quality, safety, on-hand inventory, and distribution of finished goods at the Ecru, MS Distribution Center. Within scope of the DC and fulfillment center, I assisted with the installment of the AFI e-Commerce business model. I also ran business operations on a continuous basis with approximately 500 full-time associates employed in departments, including inbound domestic and import product, upholstery line clearing, outbound transfers, and outbound shipping to both domestic and international markets. Furthermore, this site is recognized as world’s largest upholstery furniture warehouse and distribution point determining 1.2M sf with 40-foot vertical inventory racking. Additional satellite locations I directed distribution were; Ripley, MS where motion furniture is manufactured and Verona, MS where mattress and foundations are manufactured. Some of My Key Contributions: • Fine-tuned warehouse flow, inventory control and replenishment model to capitalize on proximity to enhance facility output thereby minimizing cost per unit and payroll expense.• Defined and maintained overall KPIs to achieve organizational objectives.• Transitioned DC operations from printed task cards resulted from AS-400 data to a WMS that presented directed work to handheld RF device. Continued development of the WMS suite to include ICS (Inventory Control System) and YMS (Yard Management System). • Accounted a capital percentage annually to reinvest back in operation for advantage of associates by capitalizing in new PIV equipment and promoted to facilities and buildings.
