Currently working as a Program Advisor for the Canada Arts Presentation Fund. I have over ten years of experience working with artists, small businesses and community organizations across the Atlantic region. I'm passionate about propping up the work of others, in particular in the creative industries - the heartbeat of our culture. Through my work in government, I aspire to improve inclusion of Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disabilities and all other people living at intersecting margins in government-funded cultural presentations. Beyond our own programs at Canadian Heritage, I aim to provide support to our clients through a holistic understanding of the arts funding ecosystem in Canada.I live and work in Kjipuktuk, in Mi’kma’ki, the unceded and traditional territory of the Mi’kmaq. Peace and Friendship Treaties were signed beginning in 1725, which re-affirmed the land, hunting and trading rights of this land’s original people and were meant to help guide nation-to-nation relations between the British Crown and the people of the Wabanaki Confederacy. I hold myself accountable to honour the treaties and live with respect for the land. We are all treaty people.
