IBM Certified, Consulting IT SpecialistDuring my time at IBM I was a member of IBM’s IT Specialist Profession. In 1998 I Accredited at “Advisory” level, before being accredited as a “Senior IT Specialist” in 2002. In December 2008 I became an “IBM Certified Consulting IT Specialist” and “Chartered IT Professional” in the BCS.

In January 2015, I took a role focusing on technical account management, leading the deployment of IBM's Enterprise Software portfolio in several of IBM's larger enterprise customers in Telecommunications and Financial Services. My role focused on working closely with customers, to help them understand the capabilities of software portfolio they had purchased, and ensure that they gained the maximum value from their investment during the life of the contract, whilst identifying new business opportunities.

Europe

Manager of the Pan-European WebSphere Technical Sales TeamI led a successful team of middleware technical sales professionals engaged with some of IBM's most significant customers across Europe, identifying business requirements for Mobile, Cloud, Business Process Management, Enterprise Connectivity and SOA solutions. My role included:- Business, technical and architecture consulting to drive full deployment of WebSphere software across Europe.- Leadership of large projects and opportunities through to completion.- Relationship and situation management to all levels (customer and internal).- Strategic consulting, including business plan & sales strategy development for differing segments.- Setting team direction, providing coaching, mentoring, motivation and development within a high performance culture.- Development of programs and initiates to drive increased sales and efficiency.

Europe

In parallel to my Pan Technical Sales Manager role, I also led kept a technical focus working with the European Sales Leader for PureApplication Systems to drive adoption and deployment of IBM's on premise PureApplication System's range of expert integrated system appliances.

United Kingdom

I led a successful team of middleware Technical Sales professionals engaged with some of IBM's most significant customers in the UK, to identify business requirements for Enterprise Connectivity and SOA solutions. Key aspects of my role included:- Driving greater usage of IBM's middleware technologies.- Team development, coaching, motivation and direction within IBM’s high performance culture.- Leadership of projects and opportunities from identification through to completion.- Supporting sellers to reach their potential and exceed their targets.

During this time, I worked with many of IBM's Customers and Business Partners.My primary technical focus was the Application Infrastructure pillar where I covered the WebSphere Application Server J2EE platform, enterprise optimisation, and IBM's first distributed, enterprise integrated system, the WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance.My customer base during this time crossed all sectors from investment banks, media & telecommunications companies, retailers and distribution channels. Customer size ranged from small businesses to large enterprises.
