Back at the wheel, my job is to evolve structure and processes further to allow even better use of experience gathered so far by my team and me in various projects, both internal and external.The goal is to allow each of us full immersion in given projects while keeping the backing of a common structure - the IBI Verde company - with its designs, patents, and resources.We will also involve in open source projects - first of them, the Zero SCADA, is already starting, so stay tuned!

The rapid development of various concepts and projects - especially ones using IBI Verde's INFINIT8 SCADA system as a backbone - required tremendous amounts of attention and close ownership. Luckily I was able to pass this role to my co-founder and use the freed resources to focus on these projects' ownership.Three of these projects served as a foundation for three different startups, one of them is already serving customers with an innovative, medical-grade product, having passed clinical trials with flying colors.Gain: Refinement of personal career path - currently I am focused on creating products as a Professional Product Owner / R&D Software Developer (both within IBI Verde and as a customer's team member), not companies as a CEO / Founder.

The company formed to develop concepts, projects, and the team created as part of previous initiatives. As a co-founder, I divided my time between the roles of CEO, Product Owner, or Data Scientist, sometimes also performing selected tasks in programming and deployment areas.IBI Verde carried out works both as an independent entity and in the form of outsourcing of components and / or individuals. Projects from different fields, including industrial automation, home automation, field measurement for the needs of climatological analysis (patent for an innovative measurement method being held), monitoring of athletes’ fatigue and information search algorithms.Gain: Further development of team, entity, time, and resource management skills. Extending the multidisciplinary nature of the topics I undertake enabling me to notably expand set of tools that I am able to use to solve a specific problem. Noteworthy increase in the ability to analyze various and often distant project domains as well as to find common points, patterns and parallels.

NeuroPlay / Yot Maps - a start-up, working on a medical system supporting the improvement of cognitive abilities of people 65+ of age. The project was created in a consortium with Polish universities and research institutes with significant (> PLN 5.5 million) co-financing of the first stage from the National Science and Research Centre (NCBiR) funds. My role was to co-lead IT works as Product Owner and to analyze and verify obtained data as a Signal Processing Specialist. For some time I was also involved in gathering domain knowledge, filling the gaps, and translating it into the form necessary to develop guidelines for individual teams (IT, graphics, sound, hardware, research) - that's why my role was finally generalized to Head of Information Technology. I was also involved in supporting end users – in this case, they were employees of the above-mentioned universities conducting research on actual patients – as well as verifying data obtained by them. In the final phase of the project, my tasks were to prepare assumptions and guidelines for subsequent stages / target groups (post-stroke patients, children) as well as to co-prepare the estimations of IT tasks necessary for the commercialization of prepared prototypes.Gain: Significant evolution of skills in the field of acquiring and analyzing domain knowledge, filling the gaps in it, as well as translating it into tasks allowing to achieve business goals of the project. Further development of soft skills, including maintaining relationships with third parties in conditions of strong position imbalance.

A start-up created in order to materialize one of the concepts initially developed by IBI Verde – an innovative sports training support system – which I ran as CEO.I was also deeply involved in developing the theory and basics of signal processing algorithms.The project was closed due to the lack of further financing - not a rare thing for a startup - but the resulting experience, especially the ability to let go after months of putting heart and soul into a project, is hard to overestimate.Gain: Further development of team, company, time, and resource management skills.

My own business where I worked, among others, on my second own SCADA system called INFINIT8, as the initial author and one of the architects, but also implemented third-party SCADA systems.Gain: Significant development of skills in the field of comprehensive project management – from business assumptions, through the breakdown of assumptions into feasible functions and modules as well as work budgeting, to supervision over execution and implementation. Improvement of soft skills related to sharing particular roles with other specialists in the field. Development of team building and conflict resolution skills. Foundations for working as Product Owner / Data Scientist / Team Manager.

A company offering complex warehouse automation solutions (from design and construction to implementation and support) where I worked as an IT specialist / programmer / deployment specialist. My role was to adapt - to the specific needs of the client - the WMS (Warehouse Management System), software managing the logistics of physical movements of the material in the warehouse (for example: accepting the pallet with the goods, sending it with the transport automation system to the appropriate storage location, optimizing the order fulfillment, taking into account routes, buffers, product shelf time or the current availability of infrastructure that automates displacement).As part of my own initiative, I also developed and implemented deep changes in the functioning of one of the larger transport subsystems (at the soft PLC level), significantly increasing the throughput and reducing the number of service interventions. These changes were later propagated to other facilities. I worked on projects in Poland, Spain, Bulgaria, and Russia.Gain: Development of teamwork skills, including the ones specific to international/multicultural teams and in situations where the language of the implementation team and / or the client’s team is not the language I speak fluently (Spain, Russia). Significant increase in the ability to work under time pressure and with changing external (requirements) and internal (technical and logistic problems) conditions while maintaining good relations with various stakeholders (including client’s employees).
