As an intern I assisted in daily food preparation, habitat maintenance, husbandry behaviors, veterinary procedures, and dolphin hydrations. During the day my responsibilities included giving presentations on resident Humboldt penguins and California sea lions. I also conducted sea lion feedings, and assisted in in-water dolphin interactive programs. As an intern I successfully worked a dolphin independently both during an interactive program and during the daily dolphin show, and narrated the Cove dolphin show on microphone on several occasions.

As an intern I learned and executed proper food preparation procedures, and conducted daily microphone presentations on the resident animal species. I also conducted daily exhibit cleaning and maintenance, and assisted with veterinary procedures, while learning techniques of operant conditioning by observing training sessions with all animals using positive reinforcement.
