Gretchen Rice Email and Phone Number
I have been working in special education for 19 years. Groups of students I've worked with include: Juvenile Delinquency, ADHD, Emotional Disturbances, Behavior Disordered, Specific Learning Disabilities and Mental Health. My skills in differentiated instruction and collaborative problem solving allow me to meet the needs of my students. Additional teaching experience includes: middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, and geometry in an alternative education setting; while currently teaching Interrelated Resource Algebra 1 in a public alternative school setting at GIVE West in Norcross, Georgia. My years of experience have taught me the value of patience, encouragement, compassion and understanding "at-risk" behaviors in the special education classroom setting. I work closely with each student, providing the instruction they need to succeed in the classroom. I also work closely with local school districts, therapists, probation officers, and parents to encourage the success of each student both in and outside the classroom.I am passionate about teaching young people and forging relationships with them that help build a sense of confidence, which enables them to grow as learners. It is my goal to combine my skills and experience to make a positive contribution in helping rehabilitate youth. I want to see young adults succeed and become all they can be!!
