About Gretchen Upshaw
I stumbled into the paranormal and ghost tourism industry when I moved to New Orleans from Austin in 2014. A lifelong learner, I was eager to jump into the history and hauntings of the Big Easy while writing my life's next chapter. I traded in my title as Executive Director for a plant-based culinary school for the role of General Manager at a start-up ghost tour company. For the next six years, I expanded the company into new markets across the US and discovered what I enjoy doing - being a leader and telling people stories. I moved back home to Texas in 2021 and decided to create an organization I could be proud of and allow to grow organically into an honest representation of my dedication and devotion.My experience and background are diverse, and it's that diversity that has given me a unique perspective on operating and growing a business. My daily objective is to ensure that every guest has a wonderful experience on Spell Caster's tours and that we continue to deliver authenticity through our storytelling and our storytellers.
