Contracts Engineer
CurrentAs part of the Begg Cousland Envirotec team, I am responsible for all things CAD related.Using a combination of Solidworks and AutoCAD I produce both 2D and 3D CAD drawings, from simple outline drawings to more moderate-to-complex assemblies.Much of my time is spent doing drawings for customer quotes or orders. These drawings range from our ‘standard’ filtration equipment, right through to vessel design, P&ID’s and site layouts. As well as the technical drawing work, my CAD skills have been used to produce rendered images for illustration purposes across our brochures, website and conference stands. With my official role as ‘Contracts Engineer’, I also find myself working on documentation for various projects including Installation & Operating Manuals, Inspection Test Plans, Schedules/Gantt charts. These documents are often submitted using our customer’s guidelines, when required (document names and numbers, project numbers, specific title blocks, specific document fonts, etc.).On top of the documentation, my role of Contracts Engineer has allowed to travel abroad to attend final product inspections and run tests, along with the customer.Begg Cousland Envirotec have also supported my development by allowing me to attend college part-time (day release). This was an exciting two-year period of hard work, which led to me achieving an HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
