As someone who has always been torn between the arts and the sciences, I was drawn to front end development as I get to code whilst making sure that site looks appealing and provides a great user experience. I enjoy implementing responsive designs with modern CSS/LESS. My background as an English major helps me to see things from the user's point of view and identify potential UX problems.Over the years I've aided in refreshing the look of cricut.com on multiple occasions and have worked with several Content Management Systems (CMS) over the years. These refreshes included making the site responsive as well as helping to transition it from one CMS to another. While my focus is on the front end, I have also trained in PHP and MySQL, which has made it easier for me to work with various CMS's.I've consistently completed tasks on a tight deadline, even under less than ideal circumstances.

I also helped maintain existing WordPress sites and helped migrate sites to WordPress. I worked on sites that utilize a variety of tools and themes, including sites that utilize page builders like Elementor. I debugged problems that arose with these sites after a plugin or core updates. I improved the accessibility of sites by doing things like using semantic code, aria labels, and testing the site with JAWS and NVDA which are the most popular screen readers at the time of this writing. I also increased the performance of these sites by using and properly configuring tools like Perfmatters and Smush. -
