Established product management group to design, develop, commercialise, market and support advanced technical software products for the mining industry. Coordinated reengineering of VISOR (VISualisation of ORe grades using variography) and 2D conditional simulation software from Unix-based research prototypes to commercial Windows software with support for 3D analysis, interactive graphics, scalable plotting, online help, comprehensive user guide, and licensed installation. Conceptualised, designed and project managed development of Snowden SUPERVISOR as high-performance software platform to connect technical software components with appropriate dependencies to mimic the workflow from resource estimation to reserve calculation in mining. Prepared go-to-market strategies for all software products and presented and demonstrated software and technical papers at international conferences, trade shows and customers’ sites as required.

Prepared justifications for, established and directed CSIRO’s research into optimisation of, and development of improved techniques for, planning, scheduling and controlling mining operations. Researched and monitored developments in techniques for design and scheduling of mining operations.Produced papers, promotional material and presentations outlining the objectives of the research for distribution to potential sponsors and other interested parties. Worked with Chief of Division and General Manager to review research outcomes, identify new research directions and prepare budgets as required.
