Indo-French Workshop -Udaipur (India) Heritage Walk- February 2014 coordination: ENSAPLV : Pierre Bouche, Young Soon Choi BVCOA : Ritu Deshmukh, Sindhuree Iyengar@ Udaipur, India: linked to the UNESCO World Heritage Programorganised by : ENSA Paris la Villette and Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Architecture Navi Mumbai, City council of Udaipur, UNESCO India.Udaipur is lacking urban planning and monument care, but is rapidly becoming more a tourist city, their heritage, both cultural and architectural is being demolished rapidly to make place for tourist attractions and hotels. The aim of the workshop was to determine which were these important heritage sites and how to combine them with a more touristy Udaipur.The prospective plan : Udaipur City Vision to 2022, insists the planning for the Urban and Architectural Heritage Sector. UNESCO is at the initiative of a very efficient partnership between the cities of Udaipur (India) and Strasbourg (France) about the valorisation and the preservation of the urban heritage of the old Rajput City and of the natural entities of its territory.The work produced during this two week workshop was exhibited at renowned Bagore Ki Haveli Museum in Udaipur city.Overall 15 proposals were presented at a public exhibition and 6 proposals were selected by District.
