In this role, I led the DMA (Digital Market Act) rollout for the entire company which involved rolling out native policy enforcement solution across all AI, offline and online systems of LinkedIn. This was a company wide effort which required close collaboration with execs and various product, legal and compliance team. It ensured that LinkedIn is fully compliant with DMA regulation while realizing minimal impact to product and business metrics.Lead of the team which is responsible for following:1. Designing ontology for entire LinkedIn.2. Designing policy language to cover all types of data policies in LinkedIn: data access, data deletion, data anonymization, data movement and data encryption.3. Building native policy enforcement solution for online, offline and nearline execution environments. This solution is built on separation of policies and enforcement solution and is built in a generic manner to enforce policies defined in a declarative programming language.4. Rollout and operations of policy enforcement solution across all data flows of LinkedIn.5. Automated verification solution to verify that policies are being enforced correctly in all the data access flows6. Data deletion solution to comply with GDPR's right to be forgotten compliance requirements7. Rollout of various programs across LinkedIn to make privacy a first class citizen of product organization.

Led a team of 50+ engineers to build LinkedIn's platform in Azure, enabling exploratory access to the economic graph while ensuring privacy and compliance. This initiative involved collaborating with 30+ teams across LinkedIn and Azure to develop the entire solution, encompassing networking, traffic, data replication, and infrastructure systems. Strong emphasis was placed on building platform abstractions, automating infrastructure, and implementing privacy/compliance measures at every layer of data access and AI modeling.Two key products: an exploratory API offering for searching and traversing the Economic Graph, and a conflation platform for nearline/batch exploratory analysis and generating derived data. Led the integration of LinkedIn's platform with LinkedIn's marketing solutions team and integration into Microsoft 365 solutions. Highlights:1. Spearheaded the adoption of Azure for K2 which was first production solution for LinkedIn in Azure, laying foundation for future initiatives. Collaborated closely with 30+ teams across LinkedIn and Azure to design and build entire solution, including networking, traffic, and data replication.2. Developed a privacy-safe and compliant platform, enabling exploratory access to LinkedIn's economic graph for LinkedIn, Microsoft, and external enterprise applications. Ensured privacy and compliance by incorporating principles of data separation and policy throughout all layers of data access and AI modeling (by leveraging technologies such as federated learning and differential privacy).3. Successfully navigated the challenges of integrating LinkedIn and Azure infrastructures, making informed decisions on system selection and integration.4. Worked on key infra pieces and concepts: Search, OLAP store (Pinot), ML infra, data management, GraphQL federation layer, Key-value store (CosmosDB), Batch processing engine (Spark, Databricks), data modeling, privacy/compliance, platform abstractions and infra automation (Terraform).

Successfully led a team of 15+ engineers in developing and maintaining feed infrastructure solutions for LinkedIn. Played a pivotal role in the core team responsible for creating a multi-tenant service, known as feed-mixer, which provided federation and blending/ranking functionalities across various LinkedIn applications. Led the team in prototyping different system architectures to replace the existing indexing solution for the feed infrastructure. Oversaw the development of the FollowFeed indexing system, which resulted in significant improvements to the feed ecosystem, including reduced latency, extended retention, and substantial cost savings.Highlights:* Spearheaded the prototyping of various system architectures (inbox, timeline, search-based) to replace the existing indexing solution for the feed infrastructure.* Oversaw all aspects of the new indexing system called FollowFeed, including transformation, caching, persistence (RocksDB), JNI layer development for RocksDB, scatter-gather layer, performance tuning, operationalizing, tooling, and client on-boarding.* Achieved a 5X reduction in the 99th percentile latency of serving feed index, 20x longer retention of updates and 50% CapEx reduction.* Closely collaborated with multiple infra, product and AI teams to incorporate current and future requirements into the solution.
