Full Time: January 6, 2020 - April 24, 2020Part Time: April 27, 2020 - September 1, 2020Researched prior art utilizing Google Patent, Orbit Intelligence and NL Patent for engineer invention disclosure forms which resulted in documents to inform engineers about the potential patentability of their inventions or methods. Compiled over 40 new patent families related to Baylis Medical Company products which resulted in a PowerPoint presentation indicating new market intelligence for 3 of the company’s quarterly cardiology update meetings in 2020 (February, May and September). Analyzed patent claims and drawings to complete Freedom to Operate searches which resulted in the fast progression of engineering projects. Organized new invention disclosure forms through an internal naming and saving system to ensure up to date filing of new intellectual property. Updated and validated over 500 Baylis invention disclosures by converting them to a paperless process on the online portal (Orbit Invention), which resulted in tremendously increased efficiencies and transparency in both the IP and R&D departments. Developed standard operating procedures for my internship projects and an introduction to IP manual which resulted in documents that can be used as training tools for incoming co-op students to help ease students into the role (this also included 1-on-1 training sessions with the incoming 2020-2021 co-op student to help explain the role of the IP department and essential tools and projects that are often completed).Member of different clubs and extracurriculars including: Yarnknit club, Potluck club and Baylis Bootcamp.
