I earned my Bachelor's degree in Anthropology and later pursued a Master of Research (MRes) in Anthropology of Health. Additionally, I attained a Master of Science (MSc) in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology from University College London (UCL) & The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families. My MSc dissertation delved into the experiences of the previous graduate students' experiences whilst conducting their parent-infant observations, which is a requirement for numerous psychoanalytic trainings. This research was subsequently published in the Journal of Infant Observation. I have been working at TIES Centre for Immigrant Research for nearly two years on various research projects related to Calgary's settlement sector. The research projects ranged from environmental scans and systems mapping of Calgary's immigrant serving sector and projects that explored the complex needs and experiences of professional immigrants in Canada. My current project titled Voices in the Art (VIA) is an arts-based study seeking to gain insight into the experiences of newcomer 2SLGBTQIA+ youth (14-24). This study uses an Arts-Based Engagement Ethnography (ABEE) methodology and will delve into several aspects of their lives including: intersecting identities, integration into Canadian society, social lives & relationships and experiences with gender-based violence.
