Gustavo Arango is a Latino designer working in the American fashion industry. He was born in Cali, Colombia, and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He has been designing clothes since he was 17 years old. His passion for design and constant drive to create took him to New York City, where he studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Gustavo obtained his first job as an Assistant Fashion Designer for Pierre Balmain. He has shown his collections at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York, as well as events in major fashion capitals around the world. Gustavo's designs have been featured in leading fashion publications including Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar and WWD - and are a favorite of some of film, television and music's biggest stars. His appreciation for detail, intricate tailoring and draping techniques, as well as his keen eye for luxury and style characterize his successful 30-year career. Gustavo designs and supervises his business from his atelier in San Juan, Puerto Rico and showroom in New York City.
