My job is to help clients, partners and internal teams to achieve their goals through RD&I on Wireless and Optical Communications, Photonics, Sensing, IoT, Cloud, Edge and Embedded Systems, as well as Consultancy Services related to the Telecom Market and Regulatory Framework in Brazil.

CPqD adopts the concept of Technology Platforms to strategically manage innovation. In this role I am engaged in activities like:• Supporting the continuous update of the company technology roadmap;• Fostering collaboration among all internal business units which work with wireless technologies (R&D, technology and regulatory consultancy, test and certification labs);• Seeking opportunities for external collaboration with other STI, universities, organizations (3GPP, ITU, IEEE), open source communities, companies, etc.;• Collaborating with other technology platforms to develop more comprehensive solutions to the company portfolio;• Promoting innovation initiatives;• Collaborating with Intellectual Property management and scientific publications production;• Helping in the development of a continuous technical training program;Outside the scope of the technology platform, I’m also involved in other initiatives:• A cultural transformation process that is being carried at CPqD, where I was selected for a cultural navigator role. This is essentially an internal change agent, which acts to facilitate personal alignment of leaders, managers and supervisors; to improve values and mission alignment of the employees; and to facilitate the feedback of the cultural values assessments to the leadership teams;• Technical Leader of CPQD Telecom Infrastructure Project (TIP) Lab. TIP is a worldwide community focused on collaborative innovation in the telecom sector.• Coordinator of the Standardization Commission in the 5G Brazil Project. Member of the Research and Use Cases; and Regulatory and Vertical Markets commissions.• Focal point for 5G initiatives in CPQD.

This is a program from the Brazilian Ministry of Defense, coordinated by the Army’s Technological Center. CPqD won four contracts in this program since 2012. The aim of the program is the development of a complete set of solutions (hardware and software) for a military tactical Software Defined Radio. In this role I technically led a team of thirty professionals, acting as the Scrum Product Owner for one of them and facilitating the system integration of our developments. We've already finished the first and biggest contract and the feedback we got was very good. The team was also recognized by CPqD leadership this year due to our maximum grade in the Net Promoting Score (NPS) Index assessment. Besides the internal operational activities, I also supported customer relationship management, new opportunities prospection and technical proposals writing.

This is a module developed under the Brazilian SDR Defense Program and our target was the development of seven different waveforms for the radio. An SDR waveform is a software solution that implements a wireless communication standard stack (L3, L2 and L1 of the OSI model). This work was carried out from the wireless communications systems conception, with a focus on the client’s requirements, to the implementation and system’s tests and validation. All the development was done in C++, compliant to a framework that is considered the de facto standard for defense SDR solutions, the Software Communication Architecture (SCA). Throughout the development the SCRUM development methodology was adopted, and I was both the Product Owner and one of the five developers.

The core business is to provide products and services based on IP Cores targeted to the broadcasting, telecom and embedded electronics industries. IP Cores are codes written in HDL language (VHDL, Verilog, etc..) that give functionality to FPGA or ASIC when embedded into them. Our current portfolio is comprised of modulator and multiplexer IP Cores for the ISDB-T Digital Television standard and we are now designing new solutions for the DRM and HD Radio radio broadcasting standards. If other solutions are needed we also develop IP Cores on demand. As a service provider we also work in solutions not based in IP Cores or FPGA as was the case of our development of a C/C++ driver for an STMicroelectronics based set-top-box, integrating a multiple antenna Dibcom tuner developed in a research project conducted by a pool of Brazilian universities and research centres under the SIBRATEC program.

Worked as the responsible for the project proposal and development of a low-cost digital TV transmitter. The project was funded by FINEP and after it was completed, I was still involved in the project providing services through Avanttel Tecnologia when needed.

R&D Consulting Services to Manufacturing Companies in Telecommunications, Digital Signal Processing and Embedded Electronics sector. During this period I took part in the development of a military software defined radio (SDR) for the Brazilian army, working as an advisor for the Instituto Genius.
