Provide emergency care to neonatal and pediatric patients through assessments and on-going evaluations of their clinical condition. Perform lab tests, closely monitor for acute changes, communicate the need for immediate medical interventions, and work alongside the physicians to create plans of care that are most effective for patients and their caregivers.

Assist in medical emergencies and procedures by collecting lab samples, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, performing wound care, and ensuring equipment is available during emergencies. Use clinical judgement to report abnormal findings to an RN or MD and maintain patient safety.

Interpret between Spanish and English translations among individuals receiving COVID-19 and Influenza vaccines and the healthcare providers administering them. Ensure effective communication and address questions as needed. Frequent trainings are scheduled to strengthen performance of the interpreters during the vaccine clinics.

10-week externship working alongside an RN mentor to evaluate my practice and strengthen my clinical skills. Performed bedside care in an in-patient setting including vital signs, assisting with personal care and ADLs, charting, and taking measures within my scope of practice during medical emergencies.

Navigated through administrative tasks of the UP Connections program by directing meetings and events to engage first-generation, minority groups of students during their transition into college. Alongside my supervisor, I oversaw a group of mentors that supported individual first-year students during their academic journey.

Facilitated the transition of first-generation students during their first year of college through monthly event planning and by helping connect to other campus resources. Biweekly meetings were scheduled with a group of mentors and my supervisor to reflect on strengths and areas of improvement within the UP Connections program.

Tutored middle and high school AVID students in challenging areas of their academic performance. My guidance through each tutoring session targeted areas of academic difficulties in order to improve long-term outcomes in various educational subjects. Students worked with one another and asked questions that enlightened new solutions through different approaches. I evaluated student participation and provided feedback in areas with the most opportunity for growth.
