Guy Clifton is an award-winning journalist, public relations specialist, educator, author and Nevada history enthusiast. He was raised in Gabbs before attending the University of Nevada, Reno and has spent most of his 36-year professional career in Northern Nevada, the first 30 in newspapers. He is skilled in writing, editing, video, historical research, historical multi-media presentations and photography. He is the author of nine books, including "Reno Rodeo: A History, the First 80 Years;" "You Know You're A Nevadan, If ..." volumes 1 and 2; "Dempsey In Nevada," "Johnson-Jeffries: Dateline Reno," with Ray Hagar; "Images of America: Reno," "Prospectors' Club of Reno;" "Hans Meyer-Kassel, Artist of Nevada," and "Lessons from Papa: The Amazing Life of Bob Ravera," an oral history.In 2022, he was honored as a Distinguished Nevadan by the Nevada System of Higher Education for his contributions to the cultural advancement of the Silver State. He lives in Reno with his dogs, Scruffy and Boogens.
