I take everyday nouns, verbs and, yes, even adjectives and turn them into entertaining, informative copy that has been referred to as ‘elegant’, and not just by me.My area is entertainment, primarily film and television. I write features for a television guide that appears in a number of regional newspapers around Australia, with these features occasionally running in metropolitan newspapers as well. I also regularly contribute film reviews to the Geelong Advertiser. I write a fortnightly pop-culture column titled ‘Trailer Trash’ for the Street Press Australia magazine The Music, and also contribute feature articles, profiles and reviews to that magazine. My work has also appeared in The Sunday Age, The Big Issue and a number of other publications.I also have experience as a general news reporter and sub-editor, as well as a stint in the contract-publishing trenches, researching, writing and editing articles about small business.I wrote about sport once, but that was by accident.
