Santos Glng Upstream Project, Hub 4 Compressor Station

Installation of desalination plant at hub compressor station. Involving construction of cable tray systems, pulling of power and control cables, termination and installation of field instruments and testing in a gas environment.Interpretation of electrical and instrumentation drawings, completion of punch-list works and instrumentation commissioning.Completion of work to meet oil and gas industry standards and proving ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.Acted as Health and Safety Representative and was proactive in encouraging safety at all times.Project roster is FIFO 21 days on 7 off demonstrating ability to perform long hours and overtime to meet employer requirements.

Rio Tinto- Era Ranger Uranium Mine, Jabiru, Northern Territory

Industrial construction of Brine Concentrator Plant at Ranger Uranium Mine, Jabiru (FIFO).Heavy Industrial Construction of Brine Concentrator Water Treatment Facility. Worked nightshift, proving continued ability to handle long hours and shiftwork in a FIFO industrial environment. Work included installation of cable support networks and control cabling, mounting and terminating of instrumentation, steel wire armoured cables and fire suppression systems. Worked well as part of an organised crew, striving to meet deadlines and meet high quality outcomes.

Rio Tinto Alumina Operations, Gove (Fifo), Northern Territory

Construction of Waste Water Neutralisation Plant at Rio Tinto, Gove Operations.Work involved incorporating JSEA and procedures into all tasks, including wiring PLCs and control panels, building cable support structures, testing and commissioning and installing instrumentation.Proved ability to cope with demands of FIFO work and meet deadlines and client expectations, without compromising safety.

Airport Link Tunnel, Brisbane

Continued involvement in tunnel environment, with a focus on reliability, safety and quality of work, through participation in construction, rectification and commissioning crews. Installation, testing and commissioning of overhead and underground temporary works and distribution, while liaising with power distribution entities and client representatives.Work involved installation and commissioning of switchboards, traffic signalling and traffic lighting systems.Gained experience leading crews and dealing with client representatives, as well as furthering technical knowledge of signalling systems.

Continued development of skills as an industrial electrician, through installation of cable tray, cables, traffic devices, lights, alarms and switchboards.Gained experience in communications and protection including support and installation of leaky feeder and fire system cabling.Fitted in well with large crews and personally drove to meet goals while incorporating safety.Worked straight night shift proving ability to work demands of long hours and shift work.

Completed apprenticeship and then continued as a tradesman in heavy industrial environment. Installation and commissioning of Energex and Powerlink (HV) substations. Experience in underground and overhead cable pulling, termination and testing.Projects included Ewan Maddock Dam Water Treatment Plant, Nufarm factory upgrade (Lytton), CSR factory extension (Darra), installation and testing of new substation at Incitec Pivot, installation and commissioning of new conveyor lines at Dunlop Foam (Carole Park) and fit-out and test of high-speed beverage line at Golden Circle Cannery, including associated PLC and control wiring. These jobs involved installation of cable support systems, termination of heavy duty cables, all aspects of switchboard fit-out, variable speed drives, heavy duty motors as well as commissioning and testing of systems.Extensive knowledge gained in reading electrical drawings and plans.This experience gave me the skills to complete industrial installation work on time and to a high standard, while maintaining safety as top priority.Several of these projects including water-treatment plants and sub-stations involved long-term living away from home.
