The petition went on to say that the non-profit's liabilities were in excess of assets by 35.9 million dollars and that the group should be liquidated. ANLIR has effectively been shut down.What does this mean for the DC region? Plenty. ANLIR provided malpractice insurance for a large number of lawyers and firms in the region, and two sister groups - also effectively shut down - insured hospitals and doctors in the region.
