Part of the Compliance Risk Assessment sub-team on a multi-jurisdictional investigation into allegations of bribery and corruption at a multinational corporation. Experience gained in the assessment and evaluation of internal controls as they relate to bribery and corruption risks and in the drafting of observations / recommendations for implementation to mitigate risk.

Engaged on several projects including detailed forensic investigations in both the financial and non-financial industry spheres. Project work included:- Conducting a detailed forensic review of a collapsed gambling syndicate to determine the true cash position of the syndicate and the likelihood of recovery for investors.- As part of a dispute case centring on claims of EURIBOR rate manipulation by a group of major banks an in-depth analysis was conducted of rate submissions for the market over an extended period versus those of the accused banks to assess the claim’s substance. - In the context of a post-acquisition dispute an analysis was performed of the respondent’s Mark-to-Market inventory and commodity contract valuation methodologies as well as an assessment of whether these were in line with the applicable IFRS accounting standards.

- Audit role focusing on B2B clients predominantly operating in the manufacturing, aerospace and energy sectors and varying in size from large, listed groups to smaller, non-listed entities.- In depth experience assessing the design and effectiveness of financial controls (including SOX controls) as well as performing substantive testing of all the major P&L / Balance Sheet accounts.- Acquired familiarity with UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting requirements.- Project Management skills developed on several audit engagements.- Experience working internationally having project managed the audits of a US based subsidiary of a UK FTSE listed group as well as the audit of an oil logistics port in Equatorial Guinea.
