Highlights of this post include establishing the organisation and building it to be a respected company delivering on vital transport infrastrucure. 4 new ships built or under construction, maintenance regime established at 24 ports after many years of under investment and a number of significant capital projects to improve the port infrastructure completed. With colleagues I investigated and negotiated an innovative finance deal with Lloyds Banking Group which enabled an investment of £43m in a new state of the art ROPAX to be delivered in Summer 2014. Director Of Marine Operations
Responsible for the operation and management of the NLB Ships, Support Base in Oban, 24 Hour Monitoring Centre. Also responsible for advising the NLB on navigational requirements and ensuring statutory obligations for LLAs under the MSA 1995 were carried out.Highlights include lobbying, negotiating funding and introducing into service a sophisitcated replacement ship NLV Pharos. I served on a number of international committees inlcuding IALA Aids to Navigation Management Committee

Acted as Project Manager and Salvage Master on a number of high profile assignments including the refloating of a grounded Type 23 Frigate, recovery of a ditched Merlin EH101 aircraft, removal of oil from a sunken WW2 Battleship and seabed clearance in Holy Loch following withdrawal of USN submarine facilities
Divisional Inspector Of Lifeboats
Responsible for the efficient operation of Lifeboat Stations around the coast of Scotland (latterly) and North of England. Training and management of volunteer and full time lifeboat crew members and station personnel. Carried out numerous investigations of both meritorius service and casualty incidents. Introduced a number of state of the art lifeboats into service within my areas.Highlights include investigating the service to MV Green Lilly by the Lerwick Lifeboat which resulted in the Coxswain being awarded the Gold Medal, the highest decoration for bravery in the RNLI.
