• Assess & ensure timely evaluation and scoping of work requests prior to approval for the work management planning process.• Ensure safe execution of maintenance work as per the signed off schedule. Supervise the execution of the weekly work schedule and initiate the process for break in or variation.• Effectively assist in allocating all assets, equipment & resources to complete scheduled tasks.• Participate in daily shift hand over meeting, 24-hr task list allocation, shift pre-start and shift priorities meetings to ensure work alignment for safety, quality, cost & volume of work.• Provide technical input into the development and management of the project schedule, weekly plan and execution of work.• Ensure timely updates of resource availability to enable effective scheduling.• Review work execution performance with team members, identify gaps and take corrective actions as necessary to improve performance.• Manage and review events and ensure that escalation protocols are complied with.

• Experience in fault-finding diagnosis in both mechanical and fluid transfer systems on such machines as Marion 8750, 8200.• Experience in co-coordinating, liaising with the Operations Supervisor on day to day duties.• Experience in the development/ implementation of Standard Work Procedures, Job Safety Analysis along with review and continual improvement strategies such as Task Analysis.• Ability to manage work for a team, use a proactive approach towards safety and conflict resolution.• Ability to motivate a team to achieve minimal down time, production targets and a high standard of safety.

• Development of medium to long-term maintenance plans/ strategies using tools such as AMT and Oracle.• Direct involvement in “ARMS” strategy development/ review and implementation across the dragline fleet.• Creating and planning work orders as per the identified scope to enable effective resource and contractor management. • Ensuring compliance with operating standards, procedures, legislation and regulations under the coal mining act.• Experience in developing good working relationships between key stake holders such as mechanical, electrical and mining operations.

• Direct accountability for project timelines, budgets and safety outcomes of projects up to a $30M value.• Coordination of up to six direct reports and one hundred plus craft labour across multi-disciplined areas.• Facilitation of job planning, scheduling and recruitment following on from the tender award/ handover process. • Involvement in technical engineering/ design conception regarding major structural upgrades on draglines. (Circumferential diaphragm, Boom and various RSL upgrades.)• Mentor continuous improvement projects within the workgroup such as 5S and quick change out.• Relief Project management/ SSE delegate step-up roles where required to fulfil statutory requirements.• Technical support/ guidance on projects regarding structural and mechanical activities.

• Development of site welding management system.• Coordination, facilitation of welder qualification and testing.• Facilitation of site welding consumables and materials traceability.• Coordination of welder traceability. • Coordination of NDT subcontractors.• Field auditing/ inspections to ensure the quality workmanship was to code requirements. (AS 4041, AS 1554.1, AS 1554.6)• Coordination between craft supervisors regarding the rectification of imperfections and defects associated with welding activities on site.• Development of the welding component within the MDR.

• Involvement in the implementation of the ISO 3834 compliance.• Development of company qualified welding procedures and maintenance of welder qualification records.• Development and maintenance of the G-S welding information systems. • Identification of inefficiencies around welding tasks to maintain continued improvement and best practice.• Coordination of welding training within G-S. (Mine Maintenance, Construction, Manufacturing.)• Development of welding training budgets. (Boom welding training, Welder qualification.)• Involvement in the growth of apprentices, technical aspects and work ethic as well as coordination of skilling.

• Coordination/ facilitation of welding training programs within G-S for both project specific and industry best practice standards.• Technical welding support for projects in both the planning and execution stages of the job.• Inspection auditing in line with relevant welding standards. (AS 1554.1 SP, AS 1554.5 FP, AS 4041, AWS D1.1.)• Development of Hrs for estimating/ budgeting purposes.• Involvement in the review of AS run hrs and facilitation of benchmarking standard welding tasks.• Development of detailed wok methodologies for critical welding tasks.• Development of detailed schedules/ programs for project specific tasks.• Involvement in the implementation of apprentice training initiatives across multiple disciplines. (Metal Fabrication, Mechanical) • Liaising with industry suppliers and end users to maintain best practice standards regarding welding in the mine maintenance sector. • Development/ implementation of welding traceability documentation including MDR’s, ITP’s and weld mapping/ sequencing.• Experience in various Structural Superintendent Roles for project specific contracts.
