Near Neighbours works with a range of partners to encourage very local level human relations and social action across religious and other linesHe was co chair of the Faiths Forum for London, which brings together the nine faith communities to assist and advise Greater London level public, civic and business organisations in their understanding of and work with faith communitiesFrom 2005 to 2011 Guy was inter religious affairs adviser for the Church of England and for the Archbishop of Canterbury, encouraging national and international inter religious initiatives and projects with many different organisations and communities. He initiated the Church of England’s Presence and Engagement programme which supports parishes in multi religious neighbourhoods as Christian communities committed to all and embedded in the local neighbourhood. From ordination in 1987 to 2005, Guy was in parish ministry in different contexts including multi religious inner urban east Birmingham and subsequently Archdeacon of Bradford with 65 mainly urban parishes, encouraging a range of inter religious initiatives and parish developments for the benefit of the whole community. Prior to his ordination as a priest in the Church of England, Guy had worked on international development programmes in east Africa and Mauritius, spent seven years working in the European Commission in Brussels and six years as a Director of a multi national food manufacturing company.
