Lone technical writer for high-tech manufacturer of test and measurement systems including integrated test solutions, custom designs, turn-key hardware/ software systems, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) instrumentation, test software, and engineering solutions for defense electronics, commercial manufacturing, and semiconductor production.• Developed and created user, maintenance, and support manuals for a product line ranging from rack-mount LXI/VXI digital instruments to room-size custom test systems. • Wrote a series of large Mil-Std, DOD service manuals for a highly-demanding customer who later recognized me for the documentation quality and our collaborative relationship• Created a configuration management system to standardize and regulate field service documents for a world-wide field technician force – and produced over 220 such documents • Produced photo-based parts library which eliminated incorrect part ordering from overseas technicians on a multi-million dollar program, saving money, system down-time, and customer frustration• Provided photography services used in technical documents and for program management• Performed quality assurance (QA) of various documents such as acceptance test procedures (ATP) and field service/retrofit bulletins to ensure they were accurate and easy to follow• Produced documents in compliance with ISO 9001 and ITAR standards• Created a variety of photo-based manufacturing instructions for the factory floor.• Administered document control management system (with revision control) for company publications

Current project: "Tustin Through Time," a new "Then and Now" book on the history of Tustin, California.Author, "Images of America: Tustin," a book on the history of Tustin, California published by Arcadia Publishing. Also: author of "Santa Ana in Vintage Postcards" and co-author of "Early Santa Ana," "Collectors Guide to Pocket Calculators," and "Neighborhood Organization Guide."

Researched and updated various financial operating procedures to create Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliant documentation in preparation for the company to become publicly traded. Worked with team on converting all of the existing paper-based documentation to online help using RoboHelp.

Developed and wrote user and support documentation for hardware and software solutions developed by Unisys. Also part of a unique "tiger team" chartered to develop quick-turnaround video documentation for new products and marketing concepts.
