As an engineering intern, I worked closely with the environmental engineering team, studying local brownfields to identify potential clients for multidisciplinary projects. I also worked on representing PFAS data from a factory in a digestible and useful way. To do this, I learned and used VBA to create an Excel workbook that would automatically update to include new reported data and help calculate the necessary changes to comply with new government regulations.To wrap up my internship, my fellow interns and I created a PDR and presentation to redesign Lake Shore Drive. This experience taught me how to communicate effectively with a team, and our hard work paid off as we were selected for having the best redesign.

For my high school senior project, I was fortunate enough to complete a mentorship at Arup. This experience allowed me to diversify my professional background, learning about the different fields of architectural engineering, including mechanical, structural, acoustical, electrical, and BIM design. In addition, I had the opportunity to network with potential sales and products being pitched to Arup.The final product of my senior project was a trifold presentation that highlighted my experience at Arup, the research I conducted on fire dampers, and a case study on the Chicago Starbucks Roastery, which was designed by Arup and utilized fire dampers in its design.

During my mentorship I worked with likeminded students on developing my engineering skills. With help from Arup, Perkins and will, and pepper construction me and the team I was on created a design for a woodshop. I specifically did the HVAC design, using industry standards to calculate the size and layout of ventilation and units.
